Woven patches are made with much thinner thread compared to embroidered patches. The thread in woven patches is tightly woven together creating a flat and thin patch finish. While embroidered patches are made with a thicker thread which is threaded in and out of the backing material, creating a slightly raised and bumpy feel to the patch.
